Trotz der täglichen Gewalt und Unterdrückung durch Israels Besatzung in Palästina glauben einige Israel*innen und Palästinenser*innen dennoch, dass ihr gemeinsamer Widerstand zu einem Leben in einem gerechten und freien Land für alle führen wird.

Ein Jahrzehnt nachdem der zivile Widerstand der Palästinenser*innen gegen die Apartheid-Mauer begann, erzählt der Film „Even Though My Land is Burning“ von jüdisch-israelischen antizionistischen Aktivist*innen und ihrer Rolle im Kampf der Palästinenser*innen gegen Besatzung und Beschlagnahmung von Land heute. Mittels einer filmischen Momentaufnahme hält der Film das Engagement eines solchen Aktivisten im Dorf Nabi Saleh in der Westbank.

Die ISRAELI APARTHEID WEEK findet jährlich an / in mehr als 150 Universitäten und Städten statt. Sie zielt darauf ab, Israels anhaltendes siedlerkolonialistische Projekt sowie seine Apartheidspolitik gegen die Palästinenser*innen ins Bewußtsein zu rücken. Zur Unterstützung der palästinensisch geführten BDS- Bewegung (Boykott, Desinvestitionen, Sanktionen) finden Podiumsdiskussionen, Filmvorführungen und kreative Aktionen statt.
Wir hoffen, inspiriert vom anhaltenden Widerstand der Bevölkerung im gesamten historische Palästina, dass die Israeli Apartheid Week 2016 einen großen Beitrag für den Kampf der Palästinenser*innen für Freiheit und Gerechtigkeit leisten wird.

In the face of the daily violence and oppression of Israel’s occupation of Palestine, some Israelis and Palestinians still believe that resisting together can lead to a shared life in a just and free country for all.

A decade after the Palestinian popular resistance against the apartheid wall began, “Even Though My Land is Burning” tells the story of Israeli-Jewish anti-Zionist activists and their role in the Palestinian popular struggle against the occupation and confiscation of land today, through a cinematic snapshot of one such activist ́s involvement in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh.

Each year, Israeli Apartheid Week takes place across more than 150 universities and cities. It aims to raise awareness about Israel’s ongoing settler-colonial project and apartheid policies over the Palestinian people. Panels, film screenings, and creative actions build support for the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions(BDS)movement.

Inspired by the ongoing popular resistance across historic Palestine, we hope to make Israeli Apartheid Week 2016 a powerful contribution to the Palestinian struggle for freedom and justice.
